Steven Wallach is a registered patent attorney whose 35-year practice has combined complex commercial litigation with intellectual-property procurement and transactions. He spent the bulk of his career as a partner in the New York office of Pennie & Edmonds LLP.

Much of Steven’s practice has focused on computer-related inventions, including drafting and litigating the patent in suit in State Street Bank v. Signature Financial (Fed. Cir. 1998). Other technologies he has dealt with include LEDs, medical devices (blood oximetry, f MRI scanning, nanosensor breath analysis), inkjet printing, NMR spectroscopy, polymers, probiotics, mobile ad hoc networks, VoIP, and RoIP. He has litigated—before juries and judges, in federal and state trial and appellate courts, before agencies including the USPTO and the International Trade Commission, and before arbitration panels—actions for patent, trademark, and copyright infringement; trade-secret and idea misappropriation; breach of patent licenses and other commercial contracts; trademark oppositions and domain-name disputes; and violations of the Administrative Procedure Act.
